In 1992, Gregory Hold started day trading. His exceptional talent and business skills put him on the fast track, and by 1994, he was managing branch offices and generating 85% of the company's volume. In the same year, he, along with his brother Steven had formed their own direct access trading firm.
Not a road most people could travel in such short a time. But not everyone has Greg's ability to grasp the nuances - and their potential - and be able to lead the way to new trading paradigms.
Not everyone recognizes the importance of environment. Hold Brothers has a generous incentive structure in place to reward professional excellence.
Greg has established a dedication to technological advancements that has
put his traders in the driver's seat. A high ratio of the company revenue is committed to technology and it shows in the excellence of Hold Brothers' exclusive GrayboxTM
software.
Needless to say, Greg certainly knows what he is doing. Hold Brothers has grown
from five employees and one office in 1994 to one of the largest Direct Access Trading firms in the country.
How did Greg prepare himself for all this? Bachelor of Arts degrees from Rutgers
College in both physics and economics, along with graduate classes in Computer
Science at Fordham University. He also maintains the following FINRA licenses: Series 7, 24, 55, 63 and 28.
Steven J. Hold
President
From the start and until 1998, Steven took on the responsibilities of
managing the Hold Brothers Trading floor. Steve believes wholeheartedly
in team spirit, even when that means inspiring a promising team member to
branch out and follow a dream.
Steve's "open door policy" fosters a feeling of camaraderie among traders.
And, while promoting a winning attitude, he also encourages his traders to
know how to turn off the adrenaline at the end of the day. In short, to
have a life. As he tells his traders, "Your last thoughts before you go to bed
should not be about trading."
These days, Steve still trades part time. As he puts it, "I want to
understand how the power industries are changing; and the only way to do
that is to roll up your sleeves and feel the pain of a loss and the pleasure
of a win."
Now one of the largest direct access trading companies in the country, Hold
Brothers, certainly knows something about the pleasure of winning.
